October Athlete of the Month:

Lindsay has been more consistent and her hard work has paid off. Keep it up Lindsay!
Here is what Lindsay had to say about her journey thus far;
“I started CrossFit in Feb. of 2014 at CrossFit St. Helens. I have had multiple gym memberships that just didn’t work for me. I wanted to try something that would hold me accountable with an instructor or trainer. Prior to joining I had been diagnosed with hypothyroidism and had been struggling with weight gain for a few years. Upon starting, “CrossFit” was a foreign word to me. I had heard great things about it and seen actual results from friends. I decided to give it a try. I puked my first class and felt crazy for deciding to go back, I guess you can say, “I drank the kool-aid.”
In the beginning I wasn’t consistent at all, I just showed up to class whenever I felt like it, but the more I came,the more people started to know my name and encouraged me to push myself to succeed with the workouts. I was held accountable and became more interested in the CrossFit community and what my body was capable of. The members of my “box” are more than a face I see at the gym on a regular basis, they are more like family and part of the reason I have been so successful in the past few months.
Two months ago I decided to make a lifestyle change and get serious with my health. I now have been clean eating without caffeine or alcohol for 50 days. My goal as an athlete (I say athlete because honestly they come in all shapes and sizes and I am stronger today than I have ever been even at 100 lbs lighter) is to make it to class 3 times a week, which doesn’t always happen but I have noticed results. I am down 17 pounds and 2 inches in my waist. The text is a message I sent my coach the day I was able to fit into a regular pair of jeans.”
